Black Women Are Supreme!

Black Women Are Supreme!

Black women are SUPREME!

Black women are SUPREME!

Black women are SUPREME!

Black women are SUPREME!

Black women are SUPREME!

Black women are SUPREME!

Literally and figuratively……

I can say this a million times and it still wouldn’t be enough!

BLACK WOMEN ARE SUPREME!

I hope by now everyone knows the name, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson! President Biden nominated Judge Jackson for the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the land! Judge Jackson is the first Black Woman to be nominated in the court’s 233-year history!

TRANSLATION: A BLACK WOMAN HAS BEEN NOMINATED TO THE HIGHEST COURT!

Her hearing confirmations began yesterday and I have been tuned in. A woman that looks just like me could become the next Supreme Court Justice.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed by Congress 58 years ago to prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or origin. Even after the Civil Rights Act was passed black people still experienced discrimination. Even today Black people are disregarded, overlooked, passed over, and viewed as less than for positions they are very much qualified for. Great progress has happened since 1964, but even greater strides are needed. Judge Jackson was 6 years old when the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed. Imagine living during the Civil Rights Movement…the experiences, the discrimination…

Imagine being our ancestors’ wildest dreams! Ketanji Brown Jackson is our ancestors’ wildest dream!

To see a Black Woman nominated to the Supreme Court is motivating, exhilarating, encouraging, and a sense of restorative hope for the Black community. Black and a woman? Name a better du

For myself, personally, seeing Black Women thrive on social media and news media has given me hope of what I can do, who I can be, and where I can go!

Often times people speak of the negative impact social and news media can have, but I always remind people we have the power to control what we hear and what we see. I follow people on social media that are striving for success or succeeding. I restrict my exposure to news media to good things I want to consume. We have heard, “you are what you eat.” I also truly believe we are also what we hear and see!

Judge Jackson is a testament of God’s glory and promise!

Judge Jackson is a reminder of the possibilities before us.

Judge Jackson is a reminder of where hard work and determination can take us.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, THANK YOU for being fearless, inspiring, and relatable! Your story is HERstory, Women’s History, and Black History! Thank you for blazing the trails for law students, legal professionals, women, black girls, black boys! #PassHerTheGavel #ConfirmKetanji  #ConfirmJudgeJackson #SuccessfulBlackGirl #SCOTUS #BlackGirlMagic #JusticeJackson #SheWillRise
